Holding Pattern, and We Have a Date

The past few days have been a little crazy – doctor’s appointments, tests, waiting for results, more tests, and so on. By far, it has been the most eventful week of the pregnancy. There were times when we thought she was leaving the house to check into the hospital, only to be sent back home waiting for the results of more tests.

It was kind-of exciting, thinking they might arrive early, but I had to keep reminding myself “this isn’t like getting a package from Amazon a day early – there are consequences with an early delivery”.

The good news is that Lorna doesn’t have preeclampsia, but does have cholestasis. She is responding well to the treatment and as long as everything stays on course, we will have 3 healthy boys delivered on June 22nd! We are past 30 weeks (30 weeks and 3 days, to be exact), so even if some emergency happens between now and then, the kids should all be fine.

Triplets are typically delivered early, because there can be complications if the mother is left to get much larger. Lorna is already bigger than full term, and today the doctor said she is as big as a woman carrying twins is at 36 weeks.

June 22nd is our 44th and a half wedding anniversary! It’s Frank’s sister’s 44th anniversary. And whenever the boys are born will be a fabulous day. We’re looking forward to the great news.

Carol Hofmann called me the other day and asked how Lorna was doing. I forgot to tell her about your blog but will e-mail her right now and do so. She was a Beaver classmate our freshman year. She has a set of twins.

23 days and counting? Really happy for you Dave. Hope the house is ready. I can only imagine all the X10 devices you have interfaced with the baby rooms and your TiVo so you can TiVo directly family memories. Let us know when the magical day happens.

You might as well get a big hangover and sleep for a week because you are not going to sleep for four to five years.
